Big Changes Coming!
Hunters Point Parks Conservancy.
These are exciting times for our parks and our group. Spring is here, buds have appeared, and we have been working hard on planning a great season of events and involvement along the waterfront and in our neighborhood parks.
As we grow into our new identity as Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, many of our resources are changing to reflect our new name and expanded purpose.
Our new website hunterspointparks.org is under construction, and we expect it to be up and running soon.
In the meantime, please check out our Facebook page and like us to stay connected to what’s going on in the parks. facebook.com/hunterspointparks
As always, let’s talk if you have ideas, concerns, or questions.

WHO WE ARE
Friends was started in 1998 by a group of concerned neighbors in the beautiful and growing Hunters Point community, Long Island City, who wanted to assure that our community’s parks, trees and natural areas are well cared for.
Friends is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non profit organization — a direct-action environmental group that employs volunteering in hands-on projects as a means of enhancing our Western Queens neighborhood, and as an educational approach to promote a safer, friendlier and more environmentally sustainable quality of life.
Friends is community-based, and all volunteer — there are no paid positions.
Our purpose is to enhance the quality of life in Long Island City by promoting awareness of, concern for, and participation in the publicly accessible green and open spaces on the waterfront and in the neighborhood.
